Christmas Inspiratonal text Message and Quotes

If we have wondered in Shakespeare's quote, "Whats in a name that which we call a rose and by any other name would smell as sweet", this Christmas may we as well wonder what's in the 25th of December that makes us forget our grudge against our adversaries, or what is in the season that revolves and electrifies love.

As the countdown to Christmas Day excites us , so does the enjoyable worries preoccupy our minds. Christmas gifts for our family and friends. What pains our minds in thinking what to give, brings joy to the person who will receive.

Perhaps, most of us are enfolded with the spirit of Christmas that we never questioned how it came to be. The word Christmas came from the old English phrase Christes Maesse, meaning "festival of Christ." On the other hand, the x in x-mass, the shortened word for Christmas, came from the Greek word chi, which is an abbreviation of Khristos (Christ), and also represents the cross on which Jesus was crucified.

There is no doubt, specially for Christmas, that Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ. However, controversies live especially when it comes to the date of his birth. Some theologies claim that based on their interpretation of the Bible, the birth of the Savior probably occurred in late summer or early fall 2000 years ago. Some articles state that the date December 25 has its pagan origin, which is the birthday of the sun god, Mithra and Rome converted in to the celebration of the god, Saturn, and the rebirth of the sun-god during the winter season. It was characterized by gift giving, signing, feasting and the like. It was Emperor Constantine who converted this pagan tradition in the Christian holiday of Christmas.

Today, Christmas traditions are the results of the different contributions from different countries. In the Philippines, Christmas season stays longer and it is the merriest holiday. We consider this as time for family, for giving, sharing, food, fun and friendship.. This exemplifies that the force Christmas propels is somewhat intangible but we do confine ourselves within it.

During the yuletide season, we break our piggy banks to use our saving in buying a gift for someone we love. Grandiose feeling overcomes us that we freely offer forgiveness to those who wronged us. This is also the time where crisis does not exist in its sense for we make it a point to prepare something special for the "noche-buena" and never forget to invite our neighbor which we do not usually do in ordinary days.

We have read many Christmas stories and may even re-read them and the feeling they give us is still the same. but one story that is really heartwarming is about the boy who was so excited to buy a gift. he got his money in his piggy bank and he went to the store to buy something nice for her mother. However, there are so many nice things in the store to think at the park until an idea came to his mind as to what he would give his mother. When he went home, he handed with the messy handwritten word love for her. He was having a second thought if there was something wrong with his gift because her mother kept looking at him, until finally, his mother hugged him and said, "thank you son, that was the best gift I've ever received."

It is indeed in this yuletide season when love empowers us to do things. It reminds us of the moments where love springs. The laughter you shared during your tot years with your brothers and sisters; the hugs and embraces that your mom and dad give you as the clock reaches 12:00, for the greeting which really makes the season a reason to celebrate.

The feeling of joy we experienced during this season is indeed empowering, for the person whose birth is being commemorated has given the greatest scarifies and love for us to have a reason to really celebrate.
